s--Amazing Baby Transitional Swaddle Sack, Arms Up Half-Length Sleeves & Mitten Cuffs, Swaddle for Newborn Transition to Baby Sleep Sack Wearable Blanket, Small, 0-3 Month, 6-14 lb, Little Zebra
Description
The Transitional Swaddle Sack is the easiest & safest way to transition baby from a traditional swaddle. The arms up sleeve design allows baby to self-soothe and the unique ½-length sleeves with foldover mitten cuffs closed provide partial suppression of the Startle Reflex to promote better sleep. Importantly, the patented design is safer because baby can use their arms if baby rolls over during sleep. The Transitional Swaddle Sack is ideal for babies who prefer to sleep with arms up, babies who are starting to rollover, and babies who break out of a traditional swaddle. Designed by a nurse, the Transitional Swaddle Sack’s innovative design features uniquely shaped, ½-length sleeves with foldover mitten cuffs to partially suppress the Startle Reflex that can wake a sleeping baby. Unlike a traditional swaddle where baby’s arms are fully restrained, the Transitional Swaddle Sack supports baby in a natural position for better sleep, and allows baby to access hands to self-soothe, which is important because self-soothing helps baby sleep better and longer. The uniquely-shaped, ½-length sleeves are not full length, so when mitten cuffs are closed, baby’s arms will be flexed close to body for swaddle snugness. When the mitten cuffs are closed and baby is placed in the Transitional Swaddle Sack, the arms up sleeves position baby’s arms in a flexed, close-to-body, arms-up position. The shape and length of the sleeves help partially suppress the startle reflex. The foldover mitten cuffs may be worn open or closed. The caregiver can open one or both cuffs, so baby can self-soothe by sucking directly on baby’s hand or close the cuffs to protect baby from facial scratches and provide partial suppression of the Startle Reflex. To dress baby, parents are encouraged to close the cuffs first, and then place baby in the sack. If the caregiver wants to allow baby to suck directly on hands, then open one or both mitten cuffs. When both mitten cuffs are open, the sleeves will allow full range of motion and the sleeves will not suppress the Startle Reflex. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) strongly recommends that parents stop restraining baby’s arms in a traditional swaddle when baby shows signs of starting to roll over. The Transitional Swaddle Sack is a safer option for babies who can rollover or showing signs of trying to roll over. If baby rolls over, the Transitional Swaddle Sack sleeves are designed to allow baby to use their arms to push up and lift head to reposition their head to get access to air. Many parents love the Transitional Swaddle Sack because when baby outgrows swaddling and doesn’t sleep well in a sleeveless sleeping sack, the Transitional Swaddle Sack is a lifesaver because baby sleeps better and longer. The Transitional Swaddle Sack’s mid-section is slightly tapered to provide swaddle snugness around baby’s tummy. The lower section of the sack is less spacious than a typical sleeping sack, and is designed to support baby’s legs in a natural flexed position, provides some suppression of the Startle Reflex for the legs. The stretchy fabric allows baby to stretch and feel the boundaries of the sack which helps baby feel secure. The design has been recognized as Hip Healthy by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The 2-way zipper makes the Transitional Swaddle Sack easy to use. The zipper has two zipper pulls – one at the neckline and one at the foot of the sack. The zipper zips down from the top to make it easy to place baby in the sack and zips up from the bottom to make it easy to change baby’s diaper. The Transitional Swaddle Sack is made from premium, stretchy cotton knit and exclusive designer prints. The premium cotton fabric is machine washable. Winner of multiple awards including the Mom’s Choice Award, Parent’s Pick Award, and Tillywig Award. US patent, D833,613, with patents in EU, UK, Japan, Korea, China, and countries around the world. Swaddle Sack is a registered trademark of SwaddleDesigns.
