This screen helps to prevent dirty gas from the bottom of your fuel tank from entering the sediment bowl assembly. Therefore, it helps keep junk out of your gas lines. Installation Instructions: Screen projects into tank interior(For 1931 firewall valves: screen inserts into the feed pipe) Installation Steps: 1. Insert the assembly into the mounting hole 2. Apply light downward pressure 3. Grip brass end with pliers 4. Tap pliers gently to the seat locking taper. Excessive force is not required Compatible with 95% of standard cored valve holes If the fitting is loose: Use shim material or aluminum foil layers If the hole is undersized: Ream to 7/32" (5.5mm) Certain runs of repro valves are oversized requiring shim or the addition of a layer of solder.
