- It is suitable for 3V or 5V logic and can measure bus voltages up to+36VDC. Not applicable to AC voltage.With it, you can measure high or low voltage side DC current, bus voltage, and have it automatically calculate power. It can complete these tasks with an accuracy of over 1% within an impressive range of voltage, current, and temperature, while transmitting data in an easy-to-use format through I2C.
- The voltage across the integrated 2 milliohms (0.002 ohms!), 0.1% shunt resistor is measured by an internal 16 bit ADC, allowing for impressive current range measurements at a resolution of 1.5 mA. The resistance of the resistor is so low that some multimeters record it as a short circuit.
- Many are only on the low side, which may cause problems when the grounding reference changes with the current. Other devices avoid this situation by measuring the high side, but need to modify their shunt resistors to measure different current ranges.It avoids these limitations and, with its integrated precision shunt resistor, can be used for continuous measurement of+36V and up to 15A currents on either the high or low side.
- In the high side configuration, bus voltage measurement and power calculation can be accurately retrieved, but advanced who want to measure bus voltage in the low side configuration need to cut off the jumper connecting V+and VBUS, and connect the VBUS pin to the voltage bus.
