The Basics of Buying at Nellis Auction

Auction and Preview Days

Our auctions are held every Saturday starting at 10 a.m. with a preview on Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On preview days, you can explore our warehouse, look at all the items that will be available, inspect the vehicles, pre-register, and ask any questions you may have.

On auction day, we have three auctions going simultaneously.  The first auction starts at the jewelry counters and works its way toward furniture. The second auctions starts in the back near tools, home goods, and electronics.

Best Practices

  • Make sure the auctioneer can clearly see you, make eye contact, and raise your bid card high when placing a bid.
  • Maintain separation from any competing bidders to avoid confusion.
  • Focus on the numbers— the auctioneer will always call two sets of numbers: the current highest bid and the next bid he's asking for.  i.e., "$50 now $60!"
  • Ask Questions!  It’s better to ask questions before bidding starts than to bid on an item you’re unsure of.

Bidding at Auction

The first step is to get registered for the auction. Our staff at the front desk will be happy to walk you through the process.  Basic information and a $100 cash deposit are required to obtain a bid card.

Once you register at the front desk you will be given a bid card. Hold onto this card because you'll need it during the auction. When an item is up that you want to purchase, you’ll use this card to let the auctioneer know.  Simply hold up your bid card to indicate that you are bidding on that item.

Nellis Auction's terms and conditions vary per auction and can be found on the registration page for every auction.  Please refer to the individual auction page for detailed terms and conditions.
